1. Scope and roles
This policy applies to website visitors, account owners, workspace users, people who communicate with TQB, and people whose information a TQB customer enters into the service.
TQB handles personal information for its own business purposes, such as accounts, billing, security, support, and service operations. TQB also processes client, quote, job, employee, subcontractor, and property information on behalf of contractor customers who decide what to enter into their workspaces.
2. Information we collect
The information collected depends on how the service is used.
- account and identity information, such as name, email address, login records, verification records, and session information;
- workspace and team information, such as business name, workspace owner, members, roles, permissions, and invitations;
- business profile settings, such as company name, email, phone, website, address, logo, tax number, defaults, and quote display preferences;
- materials, labour, conditions, templates, measurements, scope items, exclusions, assumptions, and payment terms configured by customers;
- client, property, quote, and job information entered by customers, including contact details, addresses, measurements, notes, photos, pricing, statuses, dates, and acceptance records;
- subscription and payment metadata, such as plan, trial status, renewal status, Stripe identifiers, and limited transaction details;
- support communications, bug reports, surveys, attachments, and troubleshooting details; and
- technical information such as IP address, device, browser, operating system, time zone, requested pages, feature interactions, cookies, session identifiers, security logs, error logs, and performance logs.
3. How we use information
TQB uses personal information to create and secure accounts, operate workspaces, store quote and job data, calculate estimates from user inputs, generate customer-facing quote pages and documents, process subscriptions, enforce plan limits, provide support, detect abuse, maintain reliability, improve the service, send service messages, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Payments
Payments and subscription management are handled by Stripe. TQB does not intentionally store complete card numbers or card security codes. Stripe may process payment information according to its own terms and privacy policy.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
TQB and its providers may use cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, secure the service, measure performance, understand usage, and support billing or authentication flows.
Browser settings may allow users to block or delete cookies, but some service features may not work correctly without them.
6. How information is shared
TQB does not sell customer data. Information may be shared with service providers needed to operate the product, such as hosting, authentication, database, payment, email, monitoring, analytics, support, and security providers.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to prevent fraud or abuse, to protect rights and safety, during a business transfer, or with customer direction or consent.
7. Customer-controlled quote data
Contractor customers control the client, property, quote, job, employee, subcontractor, and business information they enter into the service. If your information appears in a contractor's quote or workspace, you should usually contact that contractor first. TQB will assist the contractor or respond directly where applicable law requires.
8. Data location and cross-border processing
TQB and its service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, and other jurisdictions where the service or providers operate. Those jurisdictions may have laws that differ from the laws where you live.
9. Retention
TQB keeps personal information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, comply with law, maintain backups, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary based on account status, subscription status, legal requirements, security needs, and customer instructions.
10. Security
TQB uses reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service, including managed cloud database and authentication services, transport encryption, infrastructure-provider encryption at rest, workspace-based access controls, protected secrets, backups, logging, monitoring, account verification, and provider security controls.
No system is perfectly secure. Users are responsible for secure passwords, devices, browsers, networks, account permissions, exports, and careful handling of sensitive business information.
11. Privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information. Requests can be sent to support@tradequotebuilder.com. If a request relates mainly to information controlled by a contractor customer, TQB may direct the request to that customer.
Users may also manage account information in the service, update billing through Stripe where available, unsubscribe from marketing where offered, or contact support for help.
12. Children's privacy
The service is intended for business users and is not directed to children. Users should not enter information about children unless it is reasonably necessary for legitimate contractor business purposes and legally permitted.
13. Changes to this policy
TQB may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes may be communicated through the service or by email where appropriate.
